Quieting the Noise

Quieting The Noise is about the push and pull between feeling inspired and feeling overwhelmed. I often look to platforms like Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration, but the constant stream of images and ideas can make it hard to find my own direction. Sometimes it leaves me stuck and unsure where to start.

To break out of that, I went back to basics—simply putting paint on paper. I started making inkblots, like the ones I used to play with as a kid. After experimenting with lots of acrylic paint blots, I built up a collection of colourful, spontaneous designs that I’m now turning into large-scale textile works.

This approach cut through the noise, made the process enjoyable again, and—most importantly—gave me a clear direction for developing a body of work. This series brings together a selection of my favourite inkblot experiments.
