Watt Space Gallery
Watt Space is a student art gallery that was first established in 1989 by students of the University of Newcastle. The name was derived from the first gallery space located in Watt Street, Newcastle. Over the years Watt Space Gallery has moved multiple times until moving to a refurbished, purpose-built space. This move has presented an opportunity to revitalise the Watt Space logo, which has remained unchanged for over 20 years, and to bring it back to its roots.
Keeping in line with the values of the student gallery, the new logo strives for a more contemporary and professional image that is reflective of the new gallery space. The result is a clean logo reflective of the gallery's name, origins, creative thought and innovative process.

I designed the new Watt Space logo, which was inspired by the name and it’s humble origins in Watt St, Newcastle. The light bulb is symbolic of ideas, creative thought and innovative process.

The new Watt Space logo has since been applied across print and web collateral, and gallery signage.
