Student Wellbeing

Creating a design system for a health and wellbeing service provider.

I was a design lead for the development of a new visual identity for Student Wellbeing, a health and wellbeing support and service provider at The University of Newcastle. The new design system included a detailed library of graphic assets and templates, that enabled the teams within Student Wellbeing to self-serve and develop their own graphics for smaller tasks. Without these routine tasks in the design workload, we are now able to use that time to focus on impactful designs for high-level work.

  • I collaborated on the development of the Student Wellbeing visual identity. This included the design of different categories of graphics that were each suited to specific teams within the Student Wellbeing portfolio, but were consistent in terms of style and colour.

  • I designed a wide range of graphics and templates for each team of the Student Wellbeing portfolio. This graphics library was then made available to all staff members in that portfolio to allow them to self-serve in the development of their own images, website event graphics, or workshop presentations.

  • With the establishment of the graphics library, our team now has more time to focus on higher-level projects for Student Wellbeing, such as printed materials and documents, videos, animations, and product marketing campaigns.

Graphic libraries included a ‘mix-n-match’ system of graphics including abstracts, line art illustrations, and emoji illustrations
